A practical guide to arriving prepared, comfortable and ready for clean, agency-standard digitals.
Model digitals, also called model polaroids, are clean, natural images used by agencies, casting teams and clients to understand your current appearance. They usually include a headshot, profile, three-quarter and full-body images. The goal is not a heavily styled editorial look, but a clear and confident presentation of you.
A face card is a compact digital PDF that brings your key model information together. It usually includes four selected photos, your measurements and the details an agency or client needs when considering you for a job.
Bring simple, fitted clothes in neutral colours. Pack a black or white fitted top, plain jeans or trousers, clean shoes and simple underwear that will not show under your clothes. If an agency or casting brief requires underwear or a specific undergarment, bring that as well. Avoid large logos, busy patterns, oversized pieces and anything that distracts from your face or proportions. Bring one or two extra options so we can choose what works best on camera.
Keep your hair close to its everyday, natural appearance and bring a brush or comb for quick adjustments. Light or no makeup is usually best; agencies need to see your real features and skin. Keep nails clean and simple, and leave large jewellery, hats and statement accessories at home unless an agency has specifically requested them.
Use your normal skincare routine and avoid introducing new products immediately before the shoot. If possible, avoid strong exfoliation, waxing, spray tanning and sun exposure in the days before your appointment. Try not to arrive with visible tan lines or irritated skin. Drink water, eat normally and prioritise sleep the night before.
Bring the clothing options above, clean shoes, basic hair tools, your measurements and any agency or casting brief you have received. If you have current digitals or a reference from an agency, show it to the photographer so we can follow the required format. A small bag is enough; the studio has space for you to prepare comfortably.
Different agencies may request specific backgrounds, image formats, poses, measurements or clothing. Read their instructions before the shoot and bring them with you. If there is a deadline, tell us when booking so the session and delivery plan can be organised around it.
We start by checking the brief, outfits and measurements. Then we guide you through relaxed standing, seated, profile and full-body positions. You do not need professional modelling experience or a long list of poses. We keep the lighting and direction clean so the final images are easy for agencies and clients to use.
